Prčice
This organ of Bedřich
Semrád, a native of Prčice, is, like most of his instruments, of a very
good sound quality. The beautiful Gothic church is open for visitors and it is
possible to get there on foot in the famous Prague Prčice Race. The restoration
was complicated, owing to the great number of changes and additions. The later
addition of a positive on the balcony is the work of Josef Carda, the last
person to work at Semrád’s workshop. I was helped in the voicing and restoration
by the expert and admirer of Semrád, the organ builder Vladimír Šlajch, whose
help I value even more considering he was unsuccessful in the tender for the
work.
